by Dr. Paul Mach, DN, ND, CCN "In virtually every school district in the country, the minds of two generations of children have been fed the self-serving pap served up in generous portions by the National Dairy Council."[1] The National Dairy Council is a powerful marketing agency. It is not a group of wise elders with humanity's well-being in mind. Their sole job as an advertising organization is to sell the American public as much milk and dairy products as possible. It has made itself look like an educator on television, in schools and on billboards. It is a first class form of deceptive advertising and is in a business no different than Coca Cola or McDonald's. They are just a bit more sly in their methodology of getting us to buy their products. Dairy products are disease producing. They are harmful. They cause suffering. They are the perfect thing to eat if you want to be sick and have a diseased body. The dieticians and nutritionists who are mouth pieces and cheerleaders for the dairy industry, telling you that dairy products are good food, should hide their heads in shame - Not only for leading the innocent public to believe that dairy products are actually valuable, but also for failing to keep abreast of the field about which they are supposed to know something. To say that dairy products are a good food for humans is evidence of unpardonable ignorance of the facts. There is simply too much evidence proving dairy products to be a clear and present danger. Cow's milk is designed to quickly create a huge, big boned animal with four stomachs, and there is no way human's meet those criteria (although, unfortunately, I have seen some people who are starting to look dangerously close). Consider this: Cow's milk is designed to take an infant calf, weighing 90 pounds at birth, to a weight of 2,000 pounds in only two years. Human infants weigh six to eight pounds at birth and will attain a weight of only 100 to 200 pounds in 18 years! Eating dairy products is eating a food designed by nature to make you very big, like a cow, very fast. If you are presently eating dairy products, I hope you are not trying to lose weight. But there is so much more that is harmful about dairy products that I hardly know where to start. Cow's milk causes more mucus than any food you can eat - thick, dense mucus that clogs and irritates the body's entire respiratory system; mucus that coats the inside of the body and prevents the fluid operation of the system; dense gluey mucus that places a tremendous burden on the eliminative faculties of the body, clogs the delicate mucus membranes and invites disease. Hay fever, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, colds, runny noses and ear infections are all primarily caused by dairy products. Dairy products are the leading cause of allergies. Practically every book, paper, study, that discusses allergies implicates dairy products. There is simply no question of its role in this area. The people of the United States consume more dairy products than any other country in the world, a whopping 75 billion pounds a year. That is more than 300 pounds for every man, woman and child in this country. That is a lot of mucus. Here is where we might lose a few of our "experts" because you will need some common sense to appreciate this. If dairy products really did help to avoid osteoporosis, we should have none - or precious little - considering the astonishing amount of dairy products that we consume. But despite the public's consuming astronomical amounts of dairy products, osteoporosis is getting worse. Why? It is right before our eyes. Year after year we consume billions of pounds of dairy products yet we have more osteoporosis than ever before. It does not take a Ph.D. to draw some fairly incriminating conclusions about the so called benefits of the dairy products we had stuffed done our throats over the years. How much more obvious could it possibly be? Now this will have to shake some of these dieticians out of their world of self deception and into the world of reality. When the problem of osteoporosis is studied worldwide, one is struck by the fact that the highest incidence of osteoporosis is in countries where dairy products, and flesh foods and calcium supplements are consumed in the greatest quantities (the United States, Sweden, Finland, and United Kingdom). The incidence of osteoporosis is lowest in the countries where the least amount of dairy products is consumed (the Asian and African countries). Where protein consumption is highest, osteoporosis is most common. A number of studies have been done among the Bantu women of Africa. They consume less than half the protein of Americans and have a lifestyle demanding large amounts of calcium (nursing up to 10 children in a lifetime) yet osteoporosis is almost unknown among them. Where do you get calcium? Calcium is found in all foods that grow from the ground. They easily supply a sufficient amount of calcium to meet the requirements of both growing children and adults. Calcium comes from soil that plants absorb and incorporate into their structure. Animals consume the plants and absorb the calcium. That is where the cows get calcium! Cows do not consume dairy products and yet they have all the calcium they need. It has been established clearly that green leafy vegetables are a prime source of utilizable calcium in human nutrition. In addition, all raw nuts and seeds, grains, beans, fresh fruit, dried fruit, and vegetables have calcium. Statements that we can't meet calcium needs by a diet devoid of dairy products are outright fibbery, unqualified falsehoods, and out and out lies! Remember, researchers have determined that calcium deficiencies don't occur among individuals on a natural diet. Don't be misled by shameless commercial interests. NO animal anywhere in nature consumes dairy products after weaning.... and osteoporosis is not an issue in the wild. Osteoporosis is unique to the human species. For more information
